Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how RunicSpell: Word Rogue (“the App”) handles information when you use the Android version distributed on Google Play. We aim to collect as little as necessary to run the game, show ads (unless removed), and process optional in-app purchases.

2. Information we store on your device

The App stores gameplay data locally on your device (not on our own servers), including:

• Runs in progress, levels, perks, scores, best words and achievements
• Daily reward streaks and saved starting bonuses
• Settings such as music, sound effects, vibration and difficulty
• Rune and hint balances, owned items (Remove Ads, themes, outfits, Grimoire Edition), and the selected theme and outfit
• Purchase order IDs, used only to make sure each purchase is delivered once
• The optional name you type for the local high-score table

High scores are shown only on your device; they are not uploaded to an online leaderboard. Uninstalling the App or clearing app data erases this local information.

3. Advertising

The App may show advertisements provided by Google AdMob (and Google’s advertising partners), including rewarded ads that you choose to watch for an in-game bonus (for example extra Plays to continue a run) and interstitial ads between levels.

Advertising-related data may include:

• Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID)
• Device and app information needed to serve and measure ads (model, OS version, language, app version)
• IP address and approximate location derived from it (as processed by Google)
• Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks, rewards) and diagnostic data

Where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Store & Privacy > Privacy Options. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings.

You may purchase Remove Ads (or the Grimoire Edition, which includes it). After a successful purchase, interstitial ads are turned off and rewarded bonuses can be claimed without watching ads.

4. In-app purchases

Optional purchases (such as Remove Ads, Grimoire Edition, board themes, mascot outfits, rune packs and limited-time bundles) are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google Play tells the App which items you own so they can be unlocked and restored. Google handles payment processing under its own terms and privacy policy.

5. App functionality

• Internet access — used only for ads, consent and purchases. The game itself can be played offline.
• Vibration — used only for optional haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.

6. Data we do not collect ourselves

We do not require you to create an account. We do not intentionally collect:

• Your name, email or phone number
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts, photos, microphone or camera content
• Chat messages or user-generated social posts

We do not operate our own servers or analytics backend for this App, and we do not sell your personal information. Advertising and billing partners may process data as described in their policies. Data sent to Google is encrypted in transit.

7. Children

The App is a general-audience word puzzle game. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through third-party ads, contact us and also review parental controls and ad settings on the device.

8. Data retention & security

Local game data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the App. Advertising and purchase records may be retained by Google according to its policies; you can manage them through your Google account and device ad settings. We take reasonable steps appropriate for a small mobile game, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your choices

• Turn off music, sound effects or vibration in the App Settings
• Change your ad consent in Settings > Store & Privacy > Privacy Options (where shown)
• Reset or opt out of personalized ads via Android settings (Google > Ads, or Privacy > Ads)
• Purchase Remove Ads to stop interstitial ads in the App
• Uninstall the App at any time to delete all local data

10. International processing

Google and its partners may process data on servers outside your country. Where consent or other legal bases are required, they are handled through the applicable Google Play and AdMob mechanisms.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, for example if we add cloud saves or analytics. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
